About
I’m Sierra Rasberry—an artist whose work has evolved through classical training, technical design, and a lifelong instinct to observe and capture the beauty in the world around me.
My connection to art began early. From the age of five, I was immersed in creative environments and guided by incredible mentors who shaped my understanding of discipline, technique, and artistic expression. By fourteen, I received my first DSLR camera—and I’ve been photographing ever since. That instinct to document and compose visually continues to inform everything I create today.
Foundation & Training
I studied architectural design at Louisiana Tech University, where I developed a strong technical foundation in 3D modeling and rendering. That experience shaped how I think about structure, light, and space—elements that carry through both my digital and physical work.
Alongside this, I trained in traditional oil painting, studying Old Master techniques with a focus on portraiture. This combination of classical training and technical design created a unique balance in my work—where precision meets artistic interpretation.

For several years, I was actively involved in the South Florida art scene—participating in shows, live demonstrations, and collaborations with a wide range of artists.
Artistic Evolution
While my roots are grounded in classical painting, my work has never been limited to a single medium.
I often begin with photography—using images I’ve captured firsthand as the foundation for my paintings. From there, I translate those moments into oil, blending traditional techniques with modern subject matter and materials.
In 2013, I moved to South Florida, where the energy of Miami and Fort Lauderdale deeply influenced my creative direction. During this time, I expanded into ceramic sculpture and body casting, exploring form and the human figure in a more tactile way.

Returning to My Roots
It’s never uncommon to see me out at local bars, restaurants, or social gatherings with a sketchbook in hand. I love capturing quick drawings of things that I find beautiful or inspiring in the moment. Nature is my happy place. I absolutely love finding other artists our in the wild doing what they do best—being fearless enough to create something new and exciting!
Now based in Youngsville, just outside of Lafayette, I draw inspiration from the region’s culture, wildlife, and natural beauty. This environment has grounded my work in a new way, allowing space for reflection while continuing to evolve creatively.
